To ensure all Infrastructure, plant and equipment throughout the geographical Infrastructure Districts is maintained to required standards, to achieve optimum reliability and operational performance and to ensure customer objectives are achieved.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carry out effective and efficient preventative maintenance including scheduled maintenance and condition monitoring to maximise plant reliability and operational performance and to provide a high level of plant maintenance services to meet work priorities along with customer and business requirements on behalf of the Infrastructure Projects (IP) Group.
• Practice effective troubleshooting methods to repair plant breakdowns, minimising downtime.
• Manage effectively the development, implementation and monitoring of the requirements of the IP Integrated Management System Business and Divisional Instructions to control and minimise loss to people, property, processes and environment within their Section of IP.
• Implement long term strategies and work practices to ensure safe working practices and relevant work standards are met in accordance with QR's policies, procedures and legislative requirements and in line with quality improvement and risk management principles.
• Co-ordinate and negotiate with other Divisions, Sections and Units of IP and external suppliers to provide effective and efficient management of work programs and proactively work to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships through regular consultation and negotiation.
• Prepare and provide plant maintenance documentation and reports in accordance with the Scheduled Assured Maintenance (SAM) System and as required by the Supervisor.
• Participate in programs and training to ensure high performance levels through succession planning, staff appraisals, development and training to meet customer and business needs.
• Repair and maintain plant and equipment as required.
